Over-lighting
Lighting beyond the required class costs on installation, costs every night in consumption, and degrades the night sky without any safety gain.
What we work on
Lighting what is needed, where it is needed, when it is needed. The rest is expense and pollution.

Lighting plans for roads, squares, walkways and car parks: photometric calculation, choice of light sources, layout of light points, control and dimming.
Points of attention
Lighting beyond the required class costs on installation, costs every night in consumption, and degrades the night sky without any safety gain.
Light that is too cold disturbs wildlife and residents' sleep. The choice must be technically justified.
A correct average can mask dark patches. It is uniformity, not the average, that determines perceived safety.
It must be coordinated early with the network manager, or risk delaying commissioning of a completed road.
European standard EN 13201 on public lighting. Distribution network manager requirements.
