What we work on

Soft mobility

Pavements, cycle paths, bus stops: the most heavily used and the most poorly designed developments.

Soft mobility

What this sector covers

Pavements and pedestrian walkways, cycle paths and lanes, crossings, bus stops, cycle parking and links between neighbourhoods.

Our services

  • Study of flows and continuity between existing developments
  • Design of crossings and visibility at conflict points
  • Sizing of usable widths and cambers
  • Treatment of kerbs, dropped kerbs and transitions
  • Integration of public transport stops and their accessibility
  • Horizontal and vertical signage, bill of quantities and specifications

Points of attention

The real pitfalls of the trade — the ones that cost money when nobody watches for them.

Continuity

A cycle path that stops at a junction is more dangerous than no cycle path at all. Everything is decided at the connection points.

Usable width

A 1.50 m pavement with 0.60 m occupied by a post or a sign is not 1.50 m wide.

Visibility at crossings

Parking upstream of a pedestrian crossing is the most frequent cause of avoidable accidents.

Transitions

Poorly executed dropped kerbs make a development unusable for people with reduced mobility and for pushchairs.
